Such a lovely meandering chat about a place I know and love too. Paul and Linda were accompanied by the lovely Denny Laine, who co-wrote the song, and of course the Campbeltown Pipe Band.
I think Paul and Linda’s house was nearer Carradale than the Mull. It looks as if they had the whole village out! Maybe a trek down to the windy lighthouse seemed a bit much for the participants!
Ah, if the words fit and you can grab a pipe band, Saddell was a good fit for a video😂. And I bet they could park a bus there a lot more easily than at the Mull! Kintyre is infused with stories of Paul and Linda, very popular memories still with a lot of folk, you don’t go far without a reference:) I think the partygoers must have been bused in from Campbeltown as well as Carradale, certainly more than wee Saddell. Thanks for sharing Felicity:)

Thank you Dave for reading and taking the time to comment too, very much appreciated
I remember that video well. My grandfather loved the pipe band in it.
Campbeltown still has a fine pipe band:)
